All of our receivers are designed and machined in our shop, located in Marion Iowa.  We take great pride in attending to all of the little details.  Here is what comes standard with every HKS rifle:

• Receivers are a hand fit, matched set which means NO rattle
• Adjustable gas block easily accessible through handguard
• Integrated and oversized trigger guard
• Oversized flared magazine well
• Bolt catch retained by stainless, threaded pin (no roll pins)
• Posts below port door to prevent binding on lower

Design Process

Have you heard the Johnny Cash “One Piece at a Time” song?  That pretty much sums up the ordinary design for the AR platform, where the overall look and feel seems to be an afterthought.  Technically there isn’t anything wrong with an ordinary weapon, BUT why settle for ordinary when badassery is within your reach?

At HKS we believe designing a badass custom weapon requires a deliberate design plan and a keen eye.  The design process has to go beyond just functionality and incorporate:

• Sleek design lines and themes that are deliberately carried throughout 
• Smooth transition lines between upper, lower, and handguard

Everyone in our shop is a trigger snob and proud of it.  Pulling a trigger should leave you with a “damn that’s crisp” feeling.  We don’t settle for a budget build feeling and neither should you.  That is why every trigger installed must have:

• No take up
• No post travel
• Minimal reset

All HKS builds come standard with either a Rise Armament Advanced-Performance Trigger (RA-535) or an adjustable ELF Match Trigger.  

A badass weapon requires the absolute best barrel in the industry and that is why we have partnered with Proof Research.  What you will find with each Proof barrel is accuracy, consistency, reliability, and badassery.  Add a carbon fiber barrel and reduce the overall barrel weight up to 64% while still maintaining match grade accuracy. 

We double coat every receiver set and handguard to give you both a durable and custom finish.  The first coat we use is a Type III hard anodization, which provides exceptional durability.  The second coat is in-house custom Cerakote and it is anything but ordinary.

The custom Cerakote on each gun is truly one of a kind and as such slight variations are to be expected.  Any pictures on our website are general representations of what to expect from our paint colors and patterns.
